Robert "Kool" Bell, leader of the legendary Grammy Award-winning band Kool & The Gang, partners with timekeeping innovators, Accutron, to debut the new line of Le Kool timepieces.
Known across multiple generations for their iconic songs such as "Ladies Night," "Jungle Boogie," and "Celebration," Kool & The Gang started around the same time and in very close proximity to the NYC-based Accutron watch brand. With the same passion for excellence, Robert "Kool" Bell sought out Grand Cru Vineyards from owners that have been producing for generations. As a result, Mr. Bell partnered with Paul Berthelot, a multi-vintage producer of spirits since 1884, to launch Le Kool, known as the Celebration Champagne.
The Le Kool collection encompasses the revival of some of the most memorable timepieces, each a cultural and iconic touchstone, just like the Accutron brand itself. Drawing inspiration from the music, style, and elegance that synonymous with Le Kool this new models features an updated movement orientation shifted by 30 degrees, offering a fresh and innovative look. Accutron's Proprietary Electrostatic Movement. The electrostatic energy is created by twin turbines that rotate as a result of human motion at incredible speeds between two electrodes affixed to the movement. The energy, stored in an accumulator, powers two motors; a world's first electrostatic motor fueling the fluid second hand and a step motor powering the hour and minute hands.
Power saving function: To ensure power saving, the second hand automatically stops at 12 o'clock after 5 minutes of non activity. Your timepiece continues to keep time, the hour hand and the minute hand keep moving. When you would like to see the second hand's motion, please swing arm fully up and down for 3 to 5 seconds. Once powered, the second hand gradually returns to the current second indication and the power save function is canceled.
